THE owner of the motorized banca that was believed to be the one used to dump the body of mayor Gisela Bendong-Boniel and the mayor's personal assistant were arrested in the barangays of Poblacion and Nueva Estrella, Bien Unido, Bohol, on Wednesday evening, August 16.
Lobo Boniel, 39, and Brian Sayson, 33, both regular employees of the local government unit, were arrested by the town police through a warrant of arrest issued by the Lapu-Lapu City Regional Trial Court, Branch 54, on Wednesday afternoon, August 16, for the case of crime of murder with no bail recommended.
They were caught at 6:30 p.m.
Sayson, in an earlier interview, denied being involved in the kidnap-slay of the mayor by her own husband, Bohol Provincial Board Member Niño Rey Boniel on June 7. (JOB/VoxPop Cebu)
