AFTER a scoreless draw against Felda United at Panaad Park and Stadium last March 15, Ceres Negros Football Club (FC) is looking forward to snatch a win against their Malaysian rival tomorrow in an away match in the ongoing 2017 AFC Cup Group G at the Shah Alam Stadium in Shah Alam, Malaysia.
Ceres FC club director Ali Go said that tomorrow’s face-off against Felda will be a very important game for them.
“It will be almost a make or break game as it will be the biggest game of the year for us. I know if we play to our potential we can win this game. It’s a hard game for us especially it’s an away game,” he added. “Felda is also a strong team, but I’m optimistic that we can win this game. We just have to play as a team.”
Looking back at their last game, the Ceres Negros FC official said they will have several adjustments since some players will not be available for the away game.
“Manny Ott is suspended and injured while Kevin Ingreso is unsure to play due to injury. We have other players that can step up with big games and we should give them the chance to show they belong here with Ceres,” Go added.
Accepting the fact that playing in the opponent’s turf is always difficult for them, Go appealed to Filipino football fans in Malaysia to come and support them tomorrow.
“We also ask for prayers,” Go said.
Ceres Negros FC is on top of the table with a win and pair of draws for five points (+5 GD) followed by Ha Noi of Vietnam with identical record, with a win and two draws for five points (+4 GD); Tampines Rovers of Singapore with a win and pair of defeats, and Felda United with pair of draws and a defeat.
