THE agents of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Central Visayas are pursuing Leo Zafra, who is believed to be involved in the death of his 33-year-old girlfriend May Azalia Albasin.
NBI-Central Visayas Assistant Director Dominador Cimafranca said they tried to locate Zafra, after Albasin's mother Remy Albasin Lugan asked for help on Wednesday, September 27.
He said they are conducting a parallel investigation on the incident.
Cimafranca's team went to Zafra's house, but he was not around. Zafra's daughter, a lawyer, answered NBI's questions.
Cimafranca told Zafra's daughter to let her father surrender.
The agents, on the same day, obtained footage from a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera, showing Zafra standing outside a white vehicle on the spot in Barangay Lawaan, Talisay City where the body of Albasin was found on Tuesday morning, September 26.
The car's license plate was also captured by the CCTV, a radio report said.
When NBI contacted the Land Transportation Office-Central Visayas, the latter confirmed that Zafra is the owner of the white vehicle. (KAL/VoxPop Cebu)
