NEGROS Occidental-based senior leaguers continued their stunning performance on Day 3 with a 6-1 blast over Louisiana-based Vidalia Girls Softball LL in the ongoing Senior League Softball World Series 2017 in Lower Sussex Little League Park in Roxana, Delaware.

The Negrenses had a solid defensive play against Southwest on top of first, denying them the home plate before booking an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of first on scores from Neo May Mahinay, Mary Joy Maguad and Kaith Ezra Jalandoni.

Southwest finally scored their first in the top of second but Mea Tubongbanua crossed the base plate in the bottom of fourth to keep a 4-1 lead.

Angela Solidarios singled on a ground ball to Southwest shortstop. Then Maguad hit another grounder towards the third baseman who threw the ball to the second base and tagged out Solidarios.

With Tubongbanua hitting a fly ball to the center field, Mahinay doubled as Josiemers Maguad scored their fifth. Mary Joy Maguad also doubled on a line drive to the right field as Mahinay earned their sixth.

Completing the Antonio Oquindo-managed team are Glory Alonzo, Victoria Magbanua, April Rose Gonzales, Chastene Jover, April Mae Minanga, and Glecilyn Alipato. The team is directed by Liezyl Garay and Roselle Hulleza.
