NEGROS Occidental-based Hanah Taekwondo standouts went home with three golds, six silvers, and four bronzes in the just-concluded 2016 Milo Little Olympics Visayas Leg held at SM Seaside Cebu City.
Five-time national champion Kathleen Dinsay of Trinity Christian School led the Negrense gold medalists with a dominating performance in the secondary girls’ bantam weight division.
World cadet Mary Angeline Alcantara of St. Scholastica’s Academy (SSA) also ruled the elementary girls 152-160cm category, winning three of her fights in the opening round. Negros Occidental High School’s Dail Ramyel Pano ruled the secondary boys flyweight division.
University of St. La Salle-Integrated School’s Shaira Isabel Garbanzos fell short by a point for the gold to a fellow national team player from Cebu in the secondary girls welterweight.
Also winning silver medals were Riverside College’s Angeli Lesaguis for the secondary girls’ feather weight; SSA’s Ma. Gabriella Carmel de las Alas, secondary girls flyweight; STI West Negros University’s Arney Czarene Barcoma, elementary girls 136-144 cm category; Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod’s Joshua Emmanuel Deita, elementary boys; Happy Tots Christian School’s Janaiah Francesca Gerafil, elementary girls 120-128 cm category.
Bronze medalists are Murcia National High School’s Lester Paolo Escasinas, secondary boys’ fin weight; Living Stones International School’s Rodney Posecion, secondary boys heavy weight 73 kgs and above; Bacolod City National High School’s Patrick Joy Lobaton, secondary boys; and SSA’s Rolyn Jan Tolentino, elementary girls 160-168 cm category.
Other Hanah jins who saw action were Zane Vincent Olivo from SSA, Christian Monasque from Christian Venture Academy, and James Patrick Lobaton from Murcia Elem School.
