A NEGRENSE tourism and hospitality educator was chosen by Skal International as Tourism Education Personality awardee this year.
Dr. Gina Montes, former dean of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management of STI West Negros University, will receive the recognition at the Grand Ballroom of New World Hotel in Makati City on Wednesday, September 7.
Skal International is a worldwide association of travel and tourism professionals promoting global tourism and friendship.
It is the only international group uniting all branches of the travel and tourism industry.
Founded in Paris, France, Skal International already has over 15,000 members in 400 tourism clubs throughout 84 nations, including the Philippines.
The said awards program is an annual event honoring chosen individuals whose achievement and contribution have created a great impact on the tourism industry.
The awarding rites is co-organized by the Department of Tourism, Tourism Promotions Board, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, and New World Hotel Group.
The event marks the 27th Anniversary celebration of Skal Tourism Personality Awards and coincides with the 36th founding anniversary of Skal International-Makati Chapter. (EPN)
