NEGROS Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. and Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda are set to forge a sisterhood agreement in December this year.
Ma. Lina Sanogal, provincial planning and development officer, said the initiative came from the officials of the two provinces for the sharing the best practices.
A team from the Pampanga Provincial Government visited Negros Occidental last month and they learned about the province’s best practices especially on organic agriculture, tourism, and other programs.
“The sisterhood agreement is set to be signed in December in time for the famous Parol Festival of Pampanga. Our governor, vice governor, and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan will go there for the signing of the memorandum of understanding,” Sanogal said.
She added that the sisterhood agreement will also give Negros Occidental an advantage especially that Pampanga hosts the Clark International Airport, which is the alternate landing field.
