NEGROS Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the Capitol-run hospitals still lack doctors.
“The Provincial Government is finding ways to convince doctors to serve in rural hospitals especially those located in hinterland areas,” Lacson said.
He added that what the doctors didn’t know is that it is now feasible to work for government hospitals.
The vice governor said that under the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation policy, doctors have a share from the income generated from agency especially now that there is universal health care.
“This in addition to their regular salaries from government, Lacson said.
District hospitals located in the borders of Isabela and Guihulngan, Kabankalan and Mabinay and the ones in Sipalay City, Hinobaan and Calatrava have limited health services since only few doctors are willing to work in these areas.
