THE new director of Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Visayas, Chief Superintendent Jose Mario Espino, said he will continue the programs started by former director Noli Taliño.
Espino formally replaced Chief Superintendent Noli Taliño as PRO-Central Visayas director on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Camp Sergio Osmeña, Cebu City.
"As I assume command, I intend to enforce the necessary changes and improvements, however, we will continue from where Taliño left off. We shall sustain the existing programs of the chief PNP (Philippine National Police) which is anchored on improving our efficiency to drastically reduce and eliminate illegal drugs and corruption through Oplan Double Barrel Reloaded and Oplan Tokhang Revisited and further improve the delivery of public service to the people in Central Visayas," Espino said in his speech Monday.
Espino was the former officer of Civil Security Group-Supervisory Office for Security and Investigative Agencies (Sosia) in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Espino also said that he will bring new staff and render the best police service they are capable of.
"Let us put an extra mile for our countrymen who deserve nothing less than the best public service we could render," he added.
Espino said their goal is getting drugs out of Central Visayas.
Taliño also requested the police officers to support Espino.
"Give your new regional director Chief Superintendent Jomar Espino the same cooperation and support that you have given me," Taliño said.
Taliño will move to a two-star position in Camp Crame as part of the directorial staff for Human Resource and Doctrine Development. He assumed office as Central Visayas police director in July 2016. (VoxPop Philippines)
