FOLLOWING the promotions of the officials in the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo), the organization has implemented a reshuffling program to give new posts to its station commanders and a unit chief.
Cocpo spokesperson Chief Inspector Allan Curato said chiefs of police stations (PS) 2, 3 and 7 were reshuffled, including the chief of City Anti-Illegal Drug Task Force (CAIDTF) effective Tuesday, October 4.
Curato said Chief Inspector Alfredo Ortiz of PS2 was replaced by Chief Inspector Gilbert Rollen, Chief Inspector Ariel Philip Pontillas of PS3 was replaced by Chief Inspector Arnel Polo while Chief Inspector Arvies Altiche of PS7 was replaced by Senior Inspector Ian Datiles.
Chief Inspector Joepet Paglinawan is leading the CAIDTF left by Polo while Altiche takes over the administrative position vacated by Rollen.
Curato said the reshuffling is not about poor performance but rather due to the promotion sought by Ortiz and Pontillas who both qualified for the next higher rank.
Curato said prior to the promotion, both of them should have the table of organization position.
"Need position for my promotion for superintendent next year 2017," Pontillas said.
Pontillas is serving the Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao in Camp Alagar, as deputy chief of Regional Intelligence Division (RID).
"September 28 pa akong order, actually, gikuha ko sa region as deputy sa RID," Pontillas said.
"For almost 9 years in Cocpo assigned in different stations and special units, I believe I delivered a good police service to the Kagay-anons. I would like to thank the officers of Cocpo for the trust and confidence given to me," Pontillas added.
Pontillas was one of the awardees of Medalya ng Kadakilaan for outstanding performance on the government's war on drugs given by President Rodrigo Duterte during his visit in the city last September 22.
