BOHOL Provincial Board Member Niño Rey Boniel was transferred Friday night, June 23, from his detention cell at Police Station 2 in Fuente Osmeña, Cebu City to Talibon District Jail in Bohol province onboard a boat in Pier 3.

He is secured by operatives from the Regional Intelligence Division, Regional Special Operations Task Group, and Fuente Police Station personnel.

Talibon Regional Trial Court Branch 52 Judge Marivic Trabajo-Daray on Thursday, June 22, issued the transfer order.

The order came after the kidnapping and serious illegal detention charges were filed before Daray's sala on Wednesday afternoon, June 21.

The board member allegedly kidnapped and shot his wife, Bien Unido Mayor Gisela Bendong-Boniel, and threw her body into the sea.

Niño is set to face charges for kidnapping and serious illegal detention in Tagbilaran Regional Trial Court in Tagbilaran, Bohol, filed by Gisela's bestfriend, Angela Leyson and her 17-year-old son.

The parricide case will be filed in Lapu-Lapu Regional Trial Court, since the victim was shot in Lapu-Lapu City.
