MEGASTAR Sharon Cuneta apologized after her supposed project with Gabby Concepcion did not push through.
"Thanks for all your prayers and I am sorry it's not pushing through," the actress wrote on her official Facebook page.
Concepcion released a statement earlier this week confirming that their much-anticipated reunion movie is not happening this year.
According to the statement, the actor has always wanted to do a movie with Cuneta but his schedule now doesn't allow him to do so.
"Due to his tight schedule and current commitments it will not be possible anytime soon."
Concepcion's camp added that they will check on the possibility of doing the big screen reunion next year.
Cuneta, meanwhile, asks her fans to continue on supporting her upcoming movie with still unknown leading man.
The actress confirmed that Star Cinema is now preparing for the project.
"Please be happy for me -- because I am very happy with my new project which Star Cinema is now preparing! God bless us all," she wrote.
In a previous interview, Cuneta revealed that she's supposed to work with a different leading man but she asked Star Cinema if they could grant the request of the fans.
She said it's all for their loyal Sharon-Gabby supporters.
"Napaka-glossy ng team up namin, gusto ko lang siguro na ma-experience ulit ng fans namin. Sa akin, kahit anong ipagawa sa akin, okay lang."
"Not so much for myself. Truth be told, I have bigger hit with other leading men. And I have bigger hits on my own. It's really for the fans. There's been a clamor for it since he came home. That was how many years ago. Noon, ako 'yong medyo hesitant. Ngayong naging open na lahat."
Cuneta and Concepcion had the love team to beat during the 80s.
Their reel team-up turned to real romance when they tied the knot in September 1984 and are parents to Maria Kristina Cassandra, or more famously known as KC.
The marriage turned sour and the two legally separated in 1993.
Together, the Sharon-Gabby love team is behind big screen hits "Dear Heart," "Una Kang Naging Akin," and their last project together, "Tayong Dalawa" in 1992. (VoxPop Philippines)
