No successor yet for SPCD head

NEGROS Occidental Acting Provincial Administrator Lucille Gelvolea said yesterday the Capitol has not yet decided on who to succeed Special Projects and Concerns Department (SPCD) head Ian de Ramos who passed away this week.

At present, Gelvolea said, the SPCD will be placed under the Office of the Provincial Administrator.

The SPCD will still continue with its operations, and preparations for this year’s Panaad sa Negros Festival would not be affected as it falls under Provincial Planning and Development Officer Ma. Lina Sanogal.

“Sanogal serves as executive director while De Ramos was handling one or two activities of the Panaad Festival overall,” Gelvolea said.

She added that before De Ramos’s internment on Monday, his remains will pass by the Provincial Capitol before heading to his final resting place at Sanctuario de Bacolod in Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City.

De Ramos passed away after a five-month battle with cirrhosis of the liver.
