THE Davao City Water District (DCWD) said all areas served by the Dumoy Water Supply System will have low water pressure to no water on Monday, December 12, from 1:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m.
Affected areas include the entire Talomo, Ulas, Bangkal, Matina, Matina Aplaya, Ecoland, Ma-a, Langub, Bucana, Downtown, Bo. Obrero, Cabaguio, Agdao, Madapo, Marfori, San Rafael, Circumferential Road, Bacaca, J.P. Laurel Avenue, Bajada, Lanang, Bo. Pampanga, Angliongto/ Mamay Road, Sasa until Km. 12, left side portion of Diversion Road (from junction of Bangkal to corner Catalunan Grande Road), and some areas in Bago Aplaya (Gulfview Executive Homes, Versari Village, Castro Village and Sto. Niño Village).
Buhangin (from J.P Laurel Avenue to DDF Mandug, from Crossing Milan to Villa Park Subdivision and from Ma-a Bridge to DPWH Panacan including Dumoy WSS connections in Ciudad de Esperanza, Camp Catitipan, AFP Mutual Homes and Davao International Airport), and Panacan (Icsama, Crystal Meadows, Tierra Verde Village, EMI Ville Homes, Empress Subdivision, Tierra Niño Village, PMPC Village, Landmark II and III, San Juan Village and Vista Verde I and II).
DCWD's Talomo Booster Station and some production wells under Dumoy WSS will be affected by Davao Light and Power Company's power interruption on said date, needed to facilitate the normalization of loads of its Bangkal Substation.
DCWD, in a statement, said that although the power cut is shorter in duration, it needs additional time for re-switching of the affected facilities, pressure build up, and line delivery, thus, the longer duration of water service interruption.
The DCWD management is asking for the understanding and cooperation of would-be affected customers who were also advised to store enough water prior to the scheduled water interruption.
Water supply may be restored earlier if work goes smoothly or later if unforeseen problems arise, the DCWD statement added. (PR)
