PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Court of Appeals Associate Justice Noel Tijam as associate justice of the Supreme Court.
Tijam was appointed last March 8, replacing former Associate Justice Arturo Brion, who retired last December 29.
Tijam graduated magna cum laude from San Beda College in 1967, with a degree in Bachelor of Arts, Major in Philosophy and Political Science.
In 1971, he graduated cum laude and class salutatorian from the San Beda College of Law. He also passed the bar examinations the same year he graduated.
Before his appointment at the high court, he served as the senior member of CA's 11th Division.
He also became president of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Judges Association. (VoxPop Philippines)
