Biñas will take over the post of Senior Superintendent Remus Zacharias Canieso after the assignment of Chief Inspector Jovie Espenido as ICPO chief has been cancelled.

Biñas said he will wait for arrival of the officer-in-charge of Norppo before moving to Iloilo City this week.

He refused to divulge details about his successor, but said two officials are being evaluated by the Senior Officer Promotion and Placement Board (SOPPB).

Biñas served as Norppo director for almost a year succeeding Senior Superintendent Nestor Tiempo on October 3, 2016.

Meanwhile, Chief Superintendent Edmund Gonzales, acting regional director of Police Regional Office (PRO)-18, said yesterday that a police official from Police Regional Office (PRO) - 7 in Central Visayas will assume Biñas's post this week.

“PRO-18 will just implement the order from the higher headquarters once there’s a finality,” Gonzales added.
