OFFICIALS of Barangay Pagas in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija paid a courtesy visit to Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte and the city councilors during the regular session of the City Council.

Committee on energy and environment and national resources chair councilor Diosdado Mahipus Sr. introduced the Pagas barangay officials who were led by Barangay Chair Christopher Lee.

Mahipus said the barangay officials intended to visit the city for their Lakbay-Aral (travel study) and also hoped to meet President Rodrigo Duterte.

"They have been very helpful and supportive [to the president]. They went out spending their time, effort and energy in making sure that the former mayor will make it to [the] presidency," Mahipus said.

Mahipus said that Barangay Pagas has been awarded as the best barangay among the 89 barangays in Nueva Ecija and is also recognized as the best barangay in life-saving and technique by the search in water rescue.

"If there is one thing we could adopt from them, it's their cohesiveness and unity na bisan gamay lang sila pero gipakita nila na abtik ug matinabangon sila, even to their neighbors," Mahipus said.

Pagas also received an award in basic life support from the International Red Cross and was adjudged as the No. 1 barangay in Central Luzon in terms of blood donation. (ICT)
