THE Bacolod Bulk Water Inc. (BBWI) needs to secure an occupancy permit for its treatment plant once it starts supplying water to Bacolod City Water District (Baciwa).
This was noted by Office of the Building Official (OBO) head Engineer Isidro Sun Jr. Friday, saying that as of November 10, they have not yet received the application of BBWI.
The occupancy permit will cover the water treatment facility in Bangga Bagol, Barangay Granada.
Sun, along with his personnel, Friday checked the treatment plant of BBWI after he received a report that a test run for the water delivery to various areas is being conducted.
Sun explained that the test run is part of the bulk water’s requirement for their building permit to determine that the installation of the equipment is correct.
“But once they are already in full operation, they should secure an occupancy permit to ensure that the plan they had submitted in securing the building permit is followed,” he said.
If the building plan of the BWWI does not coincide with the actual construction of the treatment plant, Sun said the BBWI can still submit the as-built plan to the OBO.
“If they will operate without an occupancy permit, we will send a notice of violation,” he said.
Baciwa assistant general manager for operations Jenelyn Gemora had earlier said the BBWI started to deliver water supply after they passed the water quality testing conducted by Baciwa.
She said they are conducting a test run to determine the capacity and correct the setting of bulk water’s equipment to synchronize its operation.
Gemora added that it’s part of the test run to identify the areas with water leakages and they placed gadgets in various areas to monitor the effect of the bulk water supply.
