A SUBGROUP leader of the Odicta group operating in Iloilo City was shot dead by the police after resisting arrest and showing off a hand grenade Sunday evening, October 2.
Roberto “Toto” Supremo, resident of Rizal Estanzuela St. in the city proper, was identified as a high value target and rated by police as a subgroup leader of the top drug group in Iloilo City formerly headed by slain drug lord Melvin Odicta Sr.
A drug bust by a team from the city police office confirmed Supremo was able to sell a sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu to a poseur buyer. When police arrived at his house, he threatened the police with his grenade and received a bullet hole above his eyes.
Police said Supremo is a notorious pusher and was able to construct a big two-storey house at Rizal Estanzuela despite the fact that he is without any known business or livelihood.
In 2013, Supremo led a group of city public market vendors against Rex Donesco, former leader of the market occupants who refused to heed the City Government’s call for renovation and improvement of the public market through a private corporation. (LCP/Sunnex)
