IF you're anywhere between Victoria Plaza and Abreeza Mall and would want some Korean food outside the regular route, then hike on off to Hans Korean Restaurant at the corner of J.P. Laurel Avenue and Bacaca Road.
Expect hot food (it's Korean), and very friendly staff. Don't expect the not-so-familiar Korean food though.
Hans serves the regular best-sellers like Samgeopsal, Jjampong, Mandu, Haemul panjeon, Yangnyum chicken stuff like that. It's for a quick fix that's genuine Korean but very familiar to Filipino taste buds.
To add authenticity, there's this Korean man who will solicitously ask if you're enjoying your food and try to explain what it is you're eating.
Being Korean food fans, we do know what we were munching on, but it pays to be friendly. When we were there, the crowd was made up of college students and young professionals. We can't tell if they are regulars, but they seem like your regular K-pop groups.
Where's Hans again?
It's that establishment right at the corner of Bacaca Road and J.P. Laurel Avenue, which used to be a Korean restaurant as well but was once a pizza place a long, long time ago before turning into what looked like a Korean surplus shop.
