CAGAYAN de Oro City’s Milan “Metodico” Milendo will have his first unified title fight since dethroning Japanese boxer Akira Yaegashi for the IBF World light flyweight belt last May.
The 29-year-old Milendo will not only defend his IBF belt but will try to snatch another one opposite Hekkie Budler of South Africa on September 16 at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Lahug, Cebu City.
The 29-year-old South African boxer is the reigning International Boxing Organization (IBO) World light flyweight champion after beating Filipino boxer Joey Canoy for the vacated throne last February.
Fighting under ALA Boys stable, Milendo has a 36-2-0 win-loss-draw record with 13 knockouts.
Named as the “Hexecutioner”, Budler is also a well-experienced foe with 31-2-0 (10 KOs).
Milendo stands at 5-foot-2 and has a reach of 65 1/2 inches, while Budler is at 5-foot-3 and has a reach of 65 inches.
