OVER 100 car owners, who attended the LifeDance Festival in Mandaue City, were issued with citation ticket for illegal parking.
In the same activity, the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) together with the Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (Team) confiscated several bottles of liquor after partygoers were seen drinking these on the streets.
Glenn Antigua, chief of operations of Team, said they had 20 personnel and another one in the Team mobile who issued the citation tickets after vehicles were parked on both sides of the roads surrounding the venue of LifeDance.
LifeDance got a permit from the Mandaue City Government after they were able to comply the requirements.
LifeDance permit application was previously denied by the Cebu City Government.
The said party was held in the lot across Parkmall in the North Reclamation Area last Friday, January 19.
“Problema lang ato gibadlong ang uban, di sila patuo kay naka-park na sila nya nakainom na (We warned them not to park on the streets, but the problem was they insisted that they already parked the vehicle in the area before we came and they were already drunk),” said Antigua.
Violators will have to pay P1,000 as penalty.
If they will not settle this, Antigua said they will file a criminal case for this a violation of the city traffic ordinance.
He said a subpoena will be issued and a warrant of arrest will be served if they will not settle their obligations.
In relation to the said event, Superintendent Roberto Alanas, director of MCPO, said they gave warnings to the partygoers who were drinking liquor on the streets. Fortunately, he said most of them heed his request.
Alanas explained to them that drinking liquor along the street is not allowed in Mandaue in relation to a city ordinance.
“Kaninang umaga ang focus natin maintain zero incident para walang gulo kinontrol natin yung nag-iinom sa labas (Yesterday morning, we focused on maintaining zero incident. In order to avoid incidents, we controlled those drinking liquor outside the LifeDance venue),” said Alanas.
MCPO personnel brought the confiscated liquor to Mandaue Police Station 2 in Barangay Subangdaku.
LifeDance started at 4 p.m. last Friday and ended at 4 a.m. Saturday.
“Walang stampede, walang nasaktan yun yung importante don (There was no stampede, no one was hurt during the LifeDance, which is the important thing in any event),” Alanas added. (FMG/VoxPop Cebu)
