AROUND 1,200 women are expected to participate in today’s cervical cancer screening at the Davao City Recreation Center.
Davao City Health Officer, Dr. Josephine Villafuerte bared during a media forum last week that 40 booths are provided for the screening which will start from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Cervical visual screening is an ascetic acid test sa mga kababainhan 25 years [old] and above especially those who had given birth,” she said.
Villafuerte urged those [who] did not undergone Pap smear to join.
She said the association of obstetrics and gynecology will also be present for the event.
She said that the screening will be for free. Women who are interested to come can go in the area and register.
“Women are given a chance to be examined to know if they have problems with their cervix... it should be diagnosed at a very early stage so that it can be cured,” she added. (KVC)
