A TOTAL of 3,553 combined security forces were deployed Thursday, April 27, at the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Davao Headquarters Camp Quintin Merecido, Buhangin, Davao City during the initial send-off of personnel who will ensure the security of Davao City for the visit of Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
PRO-Davao spokesperson Police Chief Inspector Andrea dela Cerna said Thursday that the 3,553 security forces coming from 24 government agencies will be assigned to different areas to maintain peace and order for the arrival of Widodo on Sunday, April 30.
Widodo is in Davao City for a one-day official state visit. He will also lead the launching of Davao-Bitug-Gensan Roll-on-roll-off at Kudos Port, Sasa with President Rodrigo Duterte.
Among the law enforcement agencies included are Task Force Davao, Davao City Police Office, Central 911, Public Safety and Security Command Center, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Civil Defense Office.
The send-off was headed by PRO-Davao Deputy Regional Director for Administration Police Chief Superintendent Marcelo Morales.
Dela Cerna said the same security measures like the visit of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will be implemented.
