AN ESTIMATED P800,000 worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or "shabu" were seized in simultaneous drug busts at Purok Fatima, Barangay 31, Bacolod City Saturday, June 10.
The target subjects were Samsodee Dimasangcai and cousin Asnia Mariga, both street and level target drug personalities under Police Station 6. Both sold shabu to police agents at P1,000 each.
Also arrested were Khominee Dimasangcai, the station’s second top drug personality, his brothers Gaonarai and Bolawan, all residents of the said barangay, Amir Menor of Barangay 30, Darrel Mifa of Barangay Singcang-Airport, and Irene Mae Chicano of Barangay 40, who were caught possessing illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Joint operatives of Regional Special Operations Group-Negros Island Region and City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) in coordination with Police Station 6 raided the houses of Dimasangcai and Mariga that led to the recovery of 18 sachets of shabu amounting to P800,000; drug paraphernalia, and the P2,000 marked money.
Inspector Adrian James Albaytar, officer-in-charge of CDEU, said the Dimasangcai siblings were placed under surveillance for a month.
He said that others arrested in both houses were getting supply of drugs to be sold in their respective areas.
The Dimasangcai brothers have been staying in the city for several years now and are selling pirated digital video discs and compact discs in the city, Albaytar said.
Drug charges are being readied against all suspects, who are detained at Station 6.
In another development, the CDEU also conducted a drug bust at Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 last Friday that resulted to the apprehension of Jose Bonza Sr., 63 and his son, Jose Jr., 35, both of the said barangay; Sherwin Nicavera, 38; and Marnie Maming, 30, both of Barangay Villamonte.
Nicavera and Maming were caught holding a “pot session” inside Bonza’s house.
Recovered from them were seven sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia, and the P300 marked money.
In another drug bust, Renante Antequera, 42, of Purok 1, Sisi, Barangay Singcang-Airport was collared by police Saturday after he yielded five sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia, P600 cash, and the P300 marked money. He is under the street and local target drugs list of Police Station 8.
Arrested at Purok Paraiso, Sitio Sibucao, Barangay Banago on Saturday were Gerard Torillo, 22, and John Jaena, 32 after police seized from them a sachet of shabu and an improvised tooter.
In Negros Oriental, Jomar Blaza, 31, of Barangay Bagtic, Mabinay town was arrested in the said barangay Sunday, with the confiscation of an estimated P177,000 worth of illegal drugs and several firearms and ammunition.
Policemen with search warrant issued by Judge Candelario Gonzalez of Regional Trial Court Branch 45 in Bais City raided Blaza's house around 7:10 a.m.
Recovered from Blaza were seven sachets of shabu weighing 15 grams, lighter, puller, blade, .45 caliber colt with magazine, holster, three live ammunition of .9mm caliber, gun silencer, five live ammunition of .45 caliber pistol, magazine assembly of .9mm containing live ammunition and another live ammunition of the same firearm, magazine of .45 caliber, and two Alco guns.
