EXPECT sunny but cloudy skies during the opening salvo of the 453rd Fiesta Señor celebration on Thursday dawn, an official of the state weather bureau said.

Engr. Alfredo Quiblat, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Mactan chief, said "easterlies or trade winds coming from the East could bring rain clouds in the Visayas and Mindanao areas."

Quiblat thus urged urged devotees to bring their raingear during the Penitential Walk for Jesus Thursday dawn, January 12, as isolated rainshowers are expected to occur.

Quiblat also remind devotees to bring water while attending the opening salvo as temperatures are expected to rise to at least 32 degrees Celsius later in the day. (JKV/VoxPop Cebu)
