ONE of the country’s leading carriers, Philippine Airlines (PAL) will launch its Davao – Clark route on January 30 amid government's call to decongest the crowded Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
"We are translating into action our commitment to operate new flights out of Clark, a step we believe that is in the right direction. Let us welcome the Year of the Rooster with a bang as we take you up North,” PAL president and COO Jaime Bautista said in a press statement.
PAL and Clark (CIAC) International Airport Corporation authorities have been coordinating in recent months, putting in place the required logistical, technical, and administrative requirements in preparation for these new flights.
The soon-to-be-launched route will be made available at three times weekly via Airbus 321. Clark airport in Pampanga is considered by airline operators as a potential hub and gateway to Central and Northern Luzon.
PAL also announced that more flights are set to be launched starting January 2017, including the Clark-Cebu route daily flights, Clark-Busuanga flights, and three times per week flights to Cagayan De Oro.
With this, PAL will be having a total of 21 flights per week at Clark Airport.
Aside from these domestic flights, PAL will also launch daily international flights to Incheon, South Korea by January next year.
“We are committed to develop and fully utilize the Clark International Airport,” he added.
