MALACAÑANG extended on Saturday its best wishes to Filipino boxers Manny Pacquiao and Nonito Donaire as they will be fighting for their respective titles bouts in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday night (Sunday morning, Manila time).

“We wish our boxers good luck. The whole nation is behind the two boxers cheering pride of the Philippines and praying for the win,” Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said in a statement.

Pacquiao will make his return to the boxing ring to face World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight champion Jessie Vargas.

Dubbed as “Filipino Flash,” Donaire will defend his WBO super bantam weight belt against unbeaten challenger Jessie Magdaleno.

The Pacquiao-Vargas and Donaire-Magdaleno fights will be joined by two more title bouts: Oscar Baldez of Mexico against Hiroshige Osawa of Japan for the vacant WBO featherweight title; Zou Shiming of China against Prasitsak Phaprom of Thailand for the vacant WBO flyweight title. (Sunnex)
