Palawan ex-guv Joel Reyes rushed to hospital

PALAWAN'S former governor Joel Reyes, accused mastermind of the murder of Doctor Gerry Ortega, has been rushed to a hospital in the province Saturday, December 24.

Reyes was rushed to Palawan Adventist Hospital for acute gastroenteritis with severe dehydration. He has since requested to be flown to Metro Manila to undergo tests for his chest pains in St. Luke's Global for at least three days.

The Ortega family is calling for tight security to make sure that Reyes will not go into hiding again just like what happened in March 2012.

The Regional Trial Court of Palawan ordered the arrest of Joel Reyes and his brother, former Coron mayor Mario Reyes, for the killing of journalist-environmentalist Ortega in January 2011.

In 2015, the brothers, who had P2-million bounty each on their heads, were arrested in Thailand. (Sunnex)
