BAGO City native Aston Francis Palicte is set to defend his North American Boxing Federation (NABF) super flyweight title against Mexican Jose Alfredo Rodriguez on December 8 at the Round Rock Sports Center in Texas, USA.
The 26-year-old Palicte (23 wins 19 KOs and 2 losses), who is savoring his TKO win over Mark Apolinario in June 2017 in General Santos City, captured his NABF title together the World Boxing Inter-Continental Super Flyweight belt against Oscar Cantu via split decision in Las Vegas in December last year.
Palicte also captured the International Boxing Federation Pan Pacific Super Flyweight title against Vergilio Silvano in the same year.
Rodriguez (32 wins and 6 defeats) has suffered consecutive defeats this year against Filipino IBF World Super Flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas via retirement in January.
It was followed by another setback in July when he gave up his International Boxing Organization Inter-Continental super flyweight title and Universal Boxing Federation World super flyweight belt to American Dewayne Beamon. (HGD)
