CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Capitol’s Provincial Information Officer Joel Mapiles cautioned on Monday, June 26, against a supposed account of Governor Lilia Pineda on social media.
"Governor Lilia Pineda has no Facebook account," Mapiles told VoxPop Pampanga.
His statement came after an account named "Gov Lilia G. Pineda" has been adding other people on Facebook as friends and inviting others to accept the account.
The alleged fake account has 512 friends on Facebook as of 6:55 p.m. Monday, June 26, with mostly accounts of government officials and well-known Pampanga media personalities.
The Facebook page made use of the official government photo of Governor Pineda and had the Capitol building as background photo.
Mapiles commented on the same Facebook page warning against the account.
The account also posted an announcement of Governor Pineda's supposed state of the province address this August, even tagging names of congressmen, media outfits and members of the clergy.
"This is fake. Walang Facebook account si Governor Lilia G. Pineda," Mapiles said.
