SANTA RITA -- This town's Santa Rita De Cascia Parish will commemorate the centennial of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima in Portugal with a grand Marian procession.

The procession will commence at 6 pm after the noon mass.

The event will be held this May 13, the anniversary of the apparitions.

Images of Mary under different titles will be featured in the procession that is expected to be participated by Marian enthusiasts in Pampanga.

The Blessed Mother appeared to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal in 1917 and told them of three prophecies: of hell, the consecration of Russia, and the death of a pope and other religious figures.

The second prophecy is widely believed to relate to the Second World War and the disintegration of the Soviet Union.

The parish hopes to invite Marian devotees to reflect in the messages of the apparitions and their significance today. The event hopes to provide a meaningful way of commemoration.

The procession will commence at 6 pm after the noon mass.
