THE winners of the 40th Gawad Urian were announced Thursday evening, July 20, during the awarding ceremony held at the ABS-CBN compound, Quezon City.
Paolo Ballesteros bagged the best actor trophy for his performance in the movie "Die Beautiful", his sixth trophy for the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival entry.
Meanwhile, Hasmine Kilip was hailed Best Actress for "Women of the Weeping River,” while the movie brought the Best Director title to Sheron Dayoc.

Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos was named as this year's recipient of the Natatanging Gawad Urian.
