AN ESTIMATED P500,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized while seven suspects were arrested during a buy bust at a drug den in Barangay Miranda, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental past 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Investigation Agent V David Mark Maramba, operations division chief of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-18, said that Josel Montalban, 50, of the said barangay, was the subject of the operation.
Montalban sold a sachet of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to a police poseur-buyer for P500.
Recovered from the drug den are a big sachet of “shabu” worth P500,000, P750 cash, and drug paraphernalia.
Also arrested for visiting a drug den were Joefe Pausa, 26, Jairo Montalban, 36, Jetur Montalban, 32, Felix Puasa, 54, Marlon Rafil, 39, and Mitchelle Termil, 42.
Maramba said they have been monitoring the drug suspect for some time now.
All suspects are in the custody of Pontevedra Municipal Police Station headed by Senior Inspector Ryan Salazar, whose team also joined the PDEA-NIR and Regional Intelligence Unit-NIR personnel during the raid. (MPE/GYM)
