PERSONNEL of three police stations in southern Negros yielded negative results in the random drug test conducted in the first three weeks of February as part of the intensified internal cleansing campaign of Police Regional Office (PRO)-Western Visayas.
Inspector Charmae De Paz, public information officer of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), said on Tuesday, February 13, the Himamaylan City Police Station, Kabankalan City Police Station, and Moises Padilla Municipal Police Station initiated the drug tests.
Last Monday, 20 personnel of Moises Padilla Municipal Police Station underwent the test conducted by the Municipal Health Office.
Senior Inspector Alfred de Leon, town police chief, said they submitted their urine samples after the conference around 10 a.m. at the police station.
A total of 62 uniformed men and seven non-uniformed personnel of Kabankalan City Police Station also underwent the same test conducted by the City Health Office around 8 a.m. last Sunday.
Superintendent Rhea Santos, city police chief, said five employees of the local government unit also yielded negative results.
In Himamaylan City, 51 personnel of the city police station and traffic enforcers underwent the same test in partnership with the City Health Office and with the support of the local government unit.
Chief Inspector Antonio Benitez Jr., city police chief, said the drug test was conducted at the city hall around 4 p.m. last February 5 to preserve the integrity of the police force in the campaign against illegal drugs.
