MANILA (Updated) -- Police have two persons in custody as persons of interest in a foiled bombing attack near the United States Embassy in Manila last Monday.
One of the persons of interest was identified as Rayson Kilala Sakdal, alias Rashid Kilala, 34, resident of Barangay Bagumbayan in Bulakan, Bulacan. A joint team from Manila Police District and Bulacan Provincial Police Office invited Sakdal for questioning at 9:30 a.m.
Another person from Caloocan City was invited for questioning by MPD.
The persons of interest were brought to MPD station for further investigation, said Chief Superintendent Oscar Albayalde.
On Tuesday, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Ronald Dela Rosa released a computerized facial composite of the suspect.
The improvised bomb found last Monday in a trash bin near the US Embassy and detonated by police has the same design as one used by Maute group, who members are facing charges for the September 2 bomb attack that killed 15 people in Davao City.
The Maute group has alleged links to a Middle East-based terrorist group. (Sunnex)
