MANILA -- All rail networks nationwide have been placed on full alert Saturday, September 3, following the deadly blast at a night market in Davao City on Friday, September 2.
This was confirmed by Transportation Undersecretary for Rails Noel Kintanar, who asked for the public's understanding and help.
“We ask for the commuters’ cooperation in the implementation of security measures and their assistance in reporting any suspicious behavior in the stations, trains and across the rail network,” he said.
Kintanar’s announcement came after the Transportation department increased security measures in airports and ports nationwide to prevent another terrorist attack.
This, after the Abu Sayyaf Group, a known terrorist group, claimed responsibility on the attack at the night market along Davao City's Roxas Street.
The police confirmed the death of 10 people from the incident while 71 others have been injured.
President Rodrigo Duterte declared a nationwide state of lawlessness following the terrorist attack. (PNA)
