MANILA – Malacañang on Tuesday said the case of a Filipino nurse found guilty of murdering two patients should not affect the image of other Filipinos working abroad.
u201dWith the big number of industrious and excellent Filipino workers being admired for their skills, they should not be affected by this one bad element,” Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Hermino Coloma Jr. said.
Victorino Chua, a 49-year-old Filipino nurse, has reportedly been found guilty of killing two patients and attempting to poison several others while working in a hospital in United Kingdom from 2011 to 2012.
Chua reportedly killed his victims by injecting deadly levels of insulin into saline bags and ampoules of the victims identified as Tracey Arden, 44, and Derek Weaver, 83.
The Filipino nurse reportedly brought his family to the United Kingdom from the Philippines in 2002.
He allegedly forged his papers to work at a care home in 2008 and in 2011 he worked at Stepping Hill Hospital. (PNA)
