This is how the country’s biggest and most sought-after local fashion designer Vania Romoff described her newest collection exclusively for Plains and Prints fashion retail company during her solo fashion show last Thursday, July 6, at Chimes Boutique, Sales Street, Davao City.
This is the second time that Plains and Prints collaborated with Romoff following their successful fusion last year that flaunted her capsule collection for "The Heart of Fashion" benefitting the ICanServe Foundation in line with the breast cancer awareness campaign.
Ramoff took inspiration from the modern Filipino woman as she wanted to push her urge to give them a positive sense with her fresh wardrobe channeled in a local flora and ikat prints which playfully gives life to each of her styles that really deserves a space in everyone's closet.
The Cebu-born renowned couturier said that it was first her first time to have her own show here in Davao City.
She shared her creative vision why she chose Bougainvillea flowers to be the subject of her collection.
“It is something that we see everywhere but no one really thinks to put it on clothes, it’s really beautiful. We made the fabrics so they took pictures of actual bougainvillea plants and printed it on the fabrics and it looks really nice,” Ramoff said.
A quick search on Google and on her Instagram account shows Ramoff has already styled various personalities and celebrities in the country. Her unique kind of designs living a comfy yet elegant vibe has drawn wide patronage from upper and middle class.
In this collaboration, she wanted to display a confident aura to all the ladies, who wear her works as the result of her stylish flair.
“We drew inspiration from local flora, which is you can see bougainvillea and ikat prints cause I think it’s really beautiful and I haven’t seen any prints on a fabric I think it’s really special,” Ramoff said.
She added that she wanted to bring out the best of every Filipina by elevating their confidence in the way they wear her designs, a sexy yet conservative concept which are the elements that makes her designs a perfection.
“When I started creating this collection, they give me complete freedom whatever you wanted to do and for this collection I really wanted to focus on everything local,” Ramoff added.
She placed the spotlight to ordinary things we see around and put it on the classic fabrics where she is better known for her dainty ribbon designs.
The Plains and Prints special preview is only available from July 7 to 9 at Chimes. After that, all the collections will be pulled down and will be made available in all Plains and Prints distribution nationwide since July 15.
