THE People’s Law Enforcement Board (Pleb) is scheduled to resolve less than 10 administrative cases filed against policemen of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) within a month.
Lawyer Jovim Entila, member of Pleb, representing Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Negros Occidental, said they will hold a meeting this week to determine the next schedule of hearings.
Last Friday, the Pleb members held an administrative meeting at the City Council session hall.
Present were Entila along with other Pleb members, Granada Village chief Alfredo Talimodao Jr., representing the villages; former councilor Celia Flor of the women’s sector; and Antonio Te from the private sector.
Councilor Ricardo Tan, chairman of Pleb, was in Manila.
Entila said they also discussed the benefits of the Pleb members and other concerns.
In 2017, Pleb had dismissed several administrative cases after most of the complainants failed to appear in a series of hearings and some of the respondents already retired from the Philippine National Police service.
Pleb, established by virtue of Republic Act Nos. 6975 and 8551, is the central receiving entity for any citizen’s complaint against the officers and members of the Philippine National Police.
It conducts hearings, resolve, and render decision on cases filed against the erring police officers.
