PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald de la Rosa will come to Negros Occidental on June 23, Friday.
This was confirmed to VoxPop Bacolod Tuesday night, June 20, by Chief Superintendent Dionardo Carlos, PNP spokesperson.
He said the country’s top cop will attend the recognition rites of the PNP Regional Training Center in Bago City in the morning.
It is not yet certain if De la Rosa will hold a command conference with the policemen of Negros Island Region during his visit.
Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil Jr., officer-in-charge of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, said that security will be “tight,” adding that “maximum” personnel will be deployed on the ground during De la Rosa’s arrival.
He added that the Philippine Army will also augment the police force.
This will be De la Rosa’s second visit to the province since he assumed the PNP leadership last year.
His first visit was on August 25, 2016, during the retirement honors of pioneer Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region director, Chief Superintendent Conrado Capa.
