THE Philippine National Police (PNP) denied Wednesday the claim of Vice President Leni Robredo regarding the alleged "palit-ulo" scheme in the administration's war on drugs.
In a video clip uploaded on social media last Monday, Robredo said relatives of alleged drug suspects are being arrested to force those listed in the watchlist to surface and save their relatives.
"They told us of the palit-ulo scheme which means exchange heads where the wife, husband or relative in the so-called drug list will be taken if the person himself could not be found," Robredo said.
PNP spokesperson Dionardo Carlos assured that if true, the PNP "will not tolerate" it as it is not included in their policy.
"Kung merong ganitong ulat, we ask them to be more specific and let us allow those allegedly who has done this to answer for it," Carlos said.
"Let us be more specific (kung) saan nangyari at sino ang mga involved," he added.
He urged Robredo to give more details on her claims so the PNP can immediately investigate on it. (VoxPop Philippines)
