Chief Superintendent Jose Mario Espino, Police Regional Office-Central Visayas director, led the ceremonial destruction with CPPO Director Eric Noble and other officials.

“Our relentless campaign is not just on drugs, but also on illegal gambling. We are really bent on stopping illegal gambling,” Espino said in his speech.

A backhoe was used to destroy the rest of the gambling machines.

The machines, mostly "moli-moli" (slot machine) and "video karera", were confiscated by the personnel of police stations of Liloan, Talisay, Consolacion, and Naga; Provincial Intelligence Branch; Provincial Public Safety Company; and Regional Special Operations Group.

On July, Philippine National Police Director Ronald dela Rosa had ordered lower units to go after the illegal gambling activities and threatened to relieve underperforming officials. (KAL/VoxPop Cebu)
