AUTHORITIES arrested on Wednesday the alleged suspect in spreading the nude photos of former Ateneo de Manila University basketball player Kiefer Ravena.

Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) spokesperson Jay Guillermo identified the suspect as Kristoffer Monico Ng, a 22 year old bank checking officer who is also an Ateneo graduate.

He said Ng was arrested in an entrapment operation in Eastwood, Libis, Quezon City around 12:20 p.m.

Guillermo said they made an investigation on the case after they received the complaint from Ravena's parents about their son's nude photos circulating online.

He said the suspects demanded P50,000 from Ravena. In order to determine the identity of the suspect, they sent him P25,000 on Tuesday.

Guillermo said charges of robbery and extortion will be filed against the suspect, who is temporarily being held at the PNP-ACG office while undergoing booking procedure.

For his part, Ravena said they were consulting the authorities to get to the bottom of the case.

"Now that we have the first suspect under the PNP’s custody, we hope to get more leads and information so justice will be served, and harassment and blackmailing such as this would end," he said. (VoxPop Philippines)
