THE Police Regional Office (PRO) Central Visayas Director Noli Taliño assured the public that there is no direct threat to security in the provinces of Cebu, Bohol and Siquijor.

“We are verifying the information about the alleged planned atrocities in southern Cebu, but until this time no intelligence information will confirm such kidnapping plan,” he said.

The United States Embassy in the Philippines issued Thursday, November 3, a travel warning to southern Cebu amid kidnapping threats by terror groups.

But Taliño said they are securing the resorts where several foreigners flock, including Sumilon Island.

Police have conducted meetings with the Army, Navy, Air Force and coast guard to integrate their security system. (VoxPop Cebu)
