THE Task Force MassKara is strictly enforcing “no plate, no travel” policy during the highlight week of the 38th MassKara Festival in Bacolod City.
Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas, public information officer of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said in a press statement Tuesday, October 17, the implementation of the policy is in relation to Republic Act 4136 or Land Transportation and Traffic Code as part of security and public safety measures for the remaining five days of the festival which runs until October 22.
Chief Superintendent Cesar Binag, director of Police Regional Office (PRO)-Western Visayas, urged motorists to carry with them necessary documents to avoid delay during their travel.
He also instructed the Task Units Area Security and Anti-Criminality Group to conduct checkpoint operations to monitor violators of such policy.
Violators will be issued citation tickets and their vehicles will be impounded based on the nature of their offense.
Motorcycle drivers are also reminded to wear helmet and to bring driver’s license and any other necessary documents.
