THE Police Station 3 in Bacolod City will officially occupy the old barangay hall at Purok Santol, Barangay Mandalagan starting Monday, May 8.
Police Station 3 Chief Larry Teovisio confirmed to VoxPop Bacolod on Friday they have started to transfer their things from their old office at Lopue’s Mandalagan Annex on Lacson Street to their temporary relocation.
Teovisio said that beginning next week, reporting of incidents and detention of suspects will be at the old barangay hall while their police patrol will remain at their old office for quick response.
Village chief Arturo Parreño offered them a space in the old barangay hall.
Our temporary relocation is still accessible to the public, Teovisio said.
The station has been occupying a space in the building owned by the management of Lopues Mandalagan Corp. for more than 30 years for free, including water and electricity.
Due to the increase of land and building taxes, the management came up with a decision to give up providing them the said benefits.
The management had earlier said that their decision does not necessarily mean to oust the police station but to open a negotiation with them, but Teovisio said they did not resort to a negotiation.
Despite their temporary relocation, Teovisio assured the public they will continue to provide service and police assistance to barangays and residents under their jurisdiction.
