THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) warned teenagers, particularly minors, not to get involved in any fight or clash during the MassKara Festival.
Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, acting director of BCPO, said Monday he advised his personnel to file appropriate charges against those who continue to violate the law.
Over the weekend, police officers and village watchmen apprehended almost 40 individuals, some of them minors, in fights at the public plaza and Bacolod City Government Center.
Some of them were injured when they were hit by broken bottles.
Wanky said five of them will be charged for physical injuries and alarm and scandal and two others will face charges for illegal possession of deadly weapons.
“This shows that we (police) are serious in pursuing the cases,” he added.
Policemen also considered the possibility of more teen group wars as the highlights of the 22-day festivities are approaching.
Wanky assured the public that the police will continue to establish peace and order, especially in all festival sites, including the Lacson Tourism Strip.
