PRO-Central Visayas Director Espino relieved from post

POLICE Regional Office (PRO)-Central Visayas Director Jose Mario Espino has been relieved from his post effective Thursday, January 18.

He is reassigned to PRO-Northern Mindanao.

Chief Superintendent Robert Guzman Quenery from PRO-Cagayan Valley is Espino's replacement.

The relief order from Camp Crame's personnel and records management did not state the reason of Espino's transfer.

Last month, a "white paper" circulated in the media circle detailing Espino and his wife's alleged irregularities.

The couple allegedly asked for P500,000 weekly payola from illegal gambling.

Espino denied the allegations.

The Regional Internal Affairs Service-Central Visayas is investigating Espino.

The other officials who were transferred to other assignments were Director Noli Galsim Taliño, the former PRO-Central Visayas director.

Taliño, the director of human resources and doctrine development, was transferred to Special Action Force.
