PETRON Ultron in partnership with the Racing Line will hold the Pro Drag Series and the Regional Motocross on Saturday and Sunday, March 11 and 12, at the Speed City, Riverfront Drive of the Crocodile Park grounds in Davao City.
Race chairman Jonathan George "Jong" Uy and Petron area sales executive in lubes and greases Drex Norriz Libato bared this in a press conference held at the Racing Line Karting, NCCC Mall Wednesday, March 8.
Uy, who presented the details of the race, said they organized this event in celebration of the 80th Araw ng Dabaw.
"We wanted to bring these races back to where it all started," Uy said, recalling that Racing Line launched the event in 2006.
The race also aims to promote the new products of Petron, which are the Petron Ultron and Petron Blaze.
"Being the number one oil company in the country, we wanted to introduce Petron Ultron and Petron Blaze, which is the only oil that has 100 octane rating," Libato said as he eyes to hold more racing events in the city.
Some 80 entries from Zamboanga City, Iligan City, Cotabato City and Cagayan de Oro City are expected to see action in the two-day motor-sporting event.
Davao City's Guillermo "Willie" Torres Jr., Drift Tech's Peter Sia, Michael Cong, Sid Datukon, Pedro Jaldon, Miguel Araneta and John Hao are among the early favorites in the Pro Drag race on Sunday.
Uy urged all racing enthusiast to join. Registration fees are P5,000 (drag race class A), P3,500 (drag race class B) and P1,000 (autocross).
Petron will also give a 20 percent discount on all its products during the two-day event. (ABM)
